The reason we are supporting the pride community is because we need to raise awareness! Did you know that 50% of LGBTQ+ young people who wanted mental health care in 2024 did not get it? Nearly half (49%) of LGBTQ+ young people ages 13-17 experienced bullying in 2024. Raising awareness is a great way to show support to the LGBTQ+ community and can prevent things way worse than bullying. In fact all of this information comes from the Trevor Project, a leading non-profit LGBTQ+ self harm prevention organization. The Trevor Project estimates that more than 1.8 million LGBTQ+ young people (ages 13-24) seriously consider self harm each year in the U.S. — and at least one attempts self harm every 45 seconds. This is sad, but true. And if we want to help, we have to commit to prevent the worst!
